Looks like Microsoft has made it semi-official that
the next release of Windows will be in 2009 
. This is in-line with statements I've made before (

2 ,
3 ). I'm sure a number of people will be expecting delays, but I don't expect to see much of a delay. There might be short delays, but I don't see that being any more than 6 months. While I don't know what the exact plans are, at this time, I think Microsoft has something to prove with this release and it'll do everything it can to get the promised feature-set out on time, if not early.
