30 Days of Night isn't your typical vampire movie. There seemed to be some hidden back-story behind the vampires, but it never came out. Maybe it's just me, but I'd like to have had that delved into more. There is room for a sequel, but I don't think the movie was so good it justified a one. [spoiler level="medium"] Perhaps if the sheriff wouldn't have died a sequel would've had a greater possibility. I'd was hoping he'd fight to stay alive. That would've introduced an interesting dynamic for a sequel, too. [/spoiler] Either way, I thought the movie was pretty good. If you like vampire or horror movies, you should check it out.
