Perhaps I should've known what was coming, but I didn't realize Becoming Jane
was based on a true story until the last scene. Then again, it was an interesting surprise... which makes me think I shouldn't have ruined it for you. Oh well. Chances are, anyone considering watching this one will already know a bit about the basis of the movie.
I have to admit I'm not big on these types of movies. This one isn't going to make anyone a convert, that's for sure. The movie is very slow, yet the main couple seems to move very fast. Not sure what was up with that. The best part about this movie was, dare I say it, the end. No, no; I'm not saying it was that bad of a movie. I'm merely saying that the one part that I really enjoyed was the moment at which
the two lovers reunited and
Tom mentioned his daughter's name.

I thought that was very touching.
While I could swear that half the movie has been done before, I'd still recommend this one to anyone who likes these period pieces. I wouldn't run out to get this one, but I would ask a friend to borrow it or grab it if you're in the mood.
