RSS-Based Alerts

Windows Live Alerts is a nice service, but the real reason I don't use it more is because it's primarily email-based. I have absolutely no interest in getting more email than I already do. RSS alerts, however, would be priceless. I may skip over some that I don't care too much about, but RSS would be much more valuable than email alerts.

Hi Michael,

Windows Live Alerts actually provide more than email alerts (Desktop via Messenger, Email and mobile - sms).

To give it a whirl for your blog go to: http://signup.alerts.live.com/brochure/index.jsp

Despite the fact that I said "primarily email-based," I know WL Alerts supports messenger and mobile alerts. Honestly, tho, I don't like either of these options -- I'd rather email. Now, an RSS option is something worth talking about, tho... hence my suggestion :-)

I just submitted a request for this feature.
